Home-Owner Single Axle Utility Trailers

We hesitate to call these "cheap utility trailers" because the quality is not best described as cheap. We undertook this line to compete with the truly cheap trailers sold as mail-order kit trailers and at the hardware stores. These are roadworthy, approved for highway use, completely assembled - welded, not bolted - and ready to use. Triple Andgle A-frame, 2" x 8" wood plank decking, 3,500 lb axle, and 14" wheels (15" on 6 1/2' wide models) Available in sizes up to 6 1/2' x 18'. Also available in tilt-bed.

Angle Iron Utility Trailers

A-Series Open Side & SST Solid Steel Side

The best steel constructed utility trailers in the region. Boyer RV Center has been selling the Car Mate line for over 15 years! The quality and craftsmanship is well known in Erie, PA and the surrounding areas. If you've lived around Erie, you've likely seen old Car Mate trailers still in great shape and holding their value. Car Mate uses high quality components and their attention to detail and limited tolerance for mistakes is seen throughout their entire product line. Well-built is an understatement.
We offer two major categories of Car Mate Open Utility Trailers:

Steel Side Trailer

The SST Series from carmate offers the ability to haul loose material, such as mulch and dirt with less worry of spillage on the road. The solid sided trailer also provides protection for your cargo. Available in a vast array of sizes to fit your needs. 4' x 8' sheet 3/4" plywood deck on the 4' x 8' and 5' x 8'. The 5' x 10' and larger have either full steel or treated plank deck (your choice - same price!). The Car Mate SST makes an excellent all around trailer. They are available in sizes for 4' x 8' up to 6' x 18'. Tilt bed or ramp gates are also available, depending on your application. Extra height side walls are available. The Tilt Bed SST provides what could be described as a small dump trailer. Perfect for hauling loose material such as bark and dumping it on location. Landscapers can save hours with a trailer small enough to manuever to a tight location and dump material where needed. The tilt bed is available in 4' x 8', 5' x 8' and 5' x 10'.
The SST with ramp gate provides ease in loading cargo and equipment, while still providing an enclosed platform to haul loose material. Sizes range up to 18' long. The larger tandem(2) axle trailers come complete with electric brakes and 7000lb GVWR. 2990 GVWR on all single axles mean no brakes or PA State Inspections are necessary. Many people prefer the SST because it offers superior protection.
